Lebanon will redouble its efforts to get Israel out of its territory. prime minister

Lebanon will redouble efforts to secure Israel’s full withdrawal from its territories and the release of Lebanese prisoners, the country’s prime minister said, after Washington and Tehran said they had agreed on a framework peace deal.

Nawaf Salam expressed hope that with the framework peace agreement between the US and Iran “it will be possible to end this war and stop the killings, destructions, displacements and all the tragedy and pain caused to the Lebanese people”.

“We look forward to our people being able to return to their cities and villages in safety and dignity as soon as possible, and we will intensify our efforts with our partners to ensure the necessary conditions for reconstruction,” he said, and thanked “all those who contributed to this result.”

Israel has been conducting military operations against the Iran-backed Hezbollah movement in southern Lebanon for several months and has created a security zone to, as it claims, protect the country’s northern regions from attacks by the Western-recognized terrorist group.
