A Russian artist and sharp critic of the Kremlin leader Wladimir Putin was shot dead in eastern Poland. The crime took place on Monday morning in Biała Podlaska. According to police, the shooter walked away from the scene after the shooting. Skrepetsky, whose real name was Robert Kuzowkow, came from Russia’s Altai region. Just a few days before his death, the artist carried out a political art campaign in front of the Russian embassy in Berlin. He showed a painting that depicted the Soviet dictator Josef Stalin together with a baby Putin. Images of the action then spread on social networks.
Whether there is a connection between his political engagement and the fatal attack is currently the subject of investigations.
