The American aviation corporation Pratt & Whitney announced the closure of the Technologat Lakhavim plant within the next month and began sending out layoff letters to the remaining 600 employees.
The plant, founded by Steph Wertheimer after the Six-Day War and purchased by Pratt & Whitney in 2022, was supposed to close in 2025, but the decision to close was postponed.
It is planned to build residential and commercial real estate on the territory of the plant.
According to previously signed agreements, the operation of the blade manufacturing unit in the Tefen industrial zone will continue.
Management committed to holding a job fair, providing tax advice to employees at its own expense, and paying increased severance benefits in accordance with the agreement concluded in August 2023.
