Trump advances that the US will exhaust the 60 days to negotiate with Iran and that it will play on its “desperation”

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Friday that Washington will let the 60 days to negotiate with Iran run out, after the signing of the preliminary agreement for the cessation of hostilities and the reopening of the Hormuz crossing and that it will play on its “desperation.”

“We are not meeting out of desperation, but Iran. They are finished! We will let the 60 days pass,” he said in a message on social networks that comes after the meeting scheduled for this Friday in Switzerland between the American and Iranian teams for the implementation of the memorandum of understanding was postponed.

In this sense, the US president has stressed that the Iranian authorities “will not receive a single cent” from the reconstruction fund included in the agreement signed with Tehran and which is endowed with 300,000 million dollars (about 260,000 million euros), without further details about its operation having been revealed.

Apart from access to the fund, until the final agreement is signed, the United States plans to approve exemptions to sanctions related to the export of crude oil, petroleum and other petrochemical products and all services associated with oil transactions. Likewise, it undertakes to release frozen funds and assets of Iran abroad.
