The former president of the National Cinema Center was sentenced at first instance to three years in prison, including one year, for sexually assaulting his godson.
The Versailles Court of Appeal postponed Monday until July 3 the deliberations concerning Dominique Boutonnat, former president of the National Center for Cinema and Animated Images (CNC) who had been convicted at first instance of having sexually assaulted his godson, AFP learned from sources close to the case.
The new date of July 3 may still change, add these same sources, who did not wish to explain the reason for this postponement. On May 4, the general prosecutor’s office requested three years in prison, one of which was closed, the same sentence as in first instance, highlighting the “posture of denial” by Dominique Boutonnat.

Resignation from the CNC
During the hearing as at first instance in 2024, Dominique Boutonnat, who before his conviction was one of the most influential figures in French cinema, denied the facts.
He resigned in June 2024 from the CNC, a structure responsible, among other things, for managing the prevention of sexual violence in the film industry, after his conviction. His godson, 20 years old at the time of the facts, accuses him of having attacked him during a vacation in Greece in August 2020 in the country house of Dominique Boutonnat.
