VivaTech’s records consecrate Paris as the capital of innovation

The tenth edition of VivaTech recorded a historic record for the global innovation ecosystem, gathering over two hundred thousand visitors from one hundred and sixty-five countries at the Paris Porte de Versailles spaces. From 17 to 20 June 2026, the event has expanded its exhibition scale and has come to involve the entire French capital, inaugurating activities with a large public event along the Champs-Élysées. The event consolidated the city’s status as a strategic center of gravity for the international technological and industrial sector, recording the presence of over fifteen thousand startups and more than one thousand one hundred speakers.

The diplomatic and commercial relevance of the event was underlined by the joint participation of French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The presence of India as a partner country for artificial intelligence, combined with the large ministerial delegation of Germany as nation of the year, highlighted the centrality of VivaTech in defining the geopolitical balances linked to digital sovereignty. Within the busy conference schedule, the main debates focused on the productivity of algorithmic models, cyber security, green technologies and the space economy.

The stages of the fair hosted the main reference figures of the global industry, including Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon and Blue Origin, and Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web. The scientific and industrial comparison also featured Yann LeCun for AMI Labs and the technical leaders of OpenAI, flanked by the top executives of companies such as Alibaba, LVMH, Siemens and ENGIE. In this high-profile scenario, the VivaTech x Bloomberg Awards were conferred for the first time, intended to reward the leadership and impact of the most relevant projects on the international market.

On the exhibition front, the attention of observers was focused on some ground-breaking innovations destined to redefine the interface between man and machine. The company XPANCEO has unveiled an intelligent contact lens designed to overcome the use of traditional screens, while the collaboration between Unitree and HABS has made it possible to demonstrate a humanoid robot driven directly by brain activity. Equal importance was given to solutions with a high medical and social impact, such as the 3D printed resorbable implants by Lattice Medical for post-oncological tissue reconstruction and the civil protection capsules created by Lifepods for emergency management.

Finally, the event dedicated large spaces to the inclusion and involvement of citizens, opening its doors to the general public on dedicated days. Visitors were able to delve deeper into the employment dynamics linked to new technologies and attend speeches by European Space Agency astronaut Thomas Pesquet. The management of the event, represented by Maurice Lévy, Michèle Benbunan and François Bitouzet, archived the event, defining it not as a simple celebration of the past, but as the inaugural act of a crucial decade for social and economic transformations driven by scientific progress.
