Iran denies Vance’s words about agreeing to the visit of IAEA inspectors

The Iranian agency IRNA, citing a report by the Tasnim agency, writes that the entry of inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) into Iran contradicts the reached memorandum of understanding and is “extremely harmful.”

The material claims that one of Iran’s main assets that keeps the United States from making “stupid steps” is the policy of “nuclear uncertainty” – the unknown location of enriched nuclear materials for the Americans. If this uncertainty disappears due to the admission of inspectors into the country, it will only benefit the “enemy”, who, as the text says, does not hesitate to openly declare his constant desire to remove nuclear materials from Iran.

The publication also emphasizes that the memorandum itself does not contain any mention of allowing entry of inspectors, and Iran should not undertake obligations beyond the scope of this document.

On June 22, US Vice President J.D. Vance, at a press conference dedicated to the results of the “Lucerne summit,” said that the Iranians had agreed to once again allow inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency into the country. “This is a major achievement – the first step towards eliminating Iran’s nuclear military program,” he said. According to the politician, the negotiations laid the foundation for a successful final agreement. “The agreement is a house. We have laid the foundation. But we have yet to build the house,” Vance said.
