Trade unions and employers agreed to increase health benefits

The General Federation of Trade Unions (Histadrut Clalit) and the Business Presidency, which represents employers, have agreed to increase health benefits in the public and private sectors.

In the public sector, payments will increase by 8.5%, in the private sector – by 8%.

Health benefits are paid annually depending on the employee’s length of service: an employee who has worked for one year receives 5 days of health benefits, and this figure increases to 10 days for an employee with 20 years of experience and above. According to the latest agreement, the daily payment increases from 418 to 451.5 shekels in the private sector and from 471.4 to 511.6 shekels in the public sector.

To enter into force, the agreement must be approved by Labor Minister Yariv Levin.
