“I haven’t eaten anymore…”, Arnaldi reveals the truth after withdrawing from Roland Garros

Matteo Arnaldi returns to talk about his withdrawal from the Roland Garros semi-final. The Italian tennis player, involved in the Eastbourne ATP on the eve of Wimbledon 2026, the Slam in which Jannik Sinner arrives as reigning champion, was forced to withdraw a few hours before the derby with Flavio Cobolli, valid for the penultimate act in Paris.

After the retreat in Paris I didn’t eat for two days. It was really bad“, Arnaldi told the press conference, “it was similar to what happened to me in Acapulco last year. On that occasion many players fell ill due to food poisoning. That time was definitely worse, but in Paris it was similar.”

“Every time I drank or tried to eat, I felt like throwing up again. It wasn’t a good experience, but what can you do?”, continued Arnaldi, “now we are evaluating the season’s planning, I’m also thinking about Turin. I’m 24th in the Race, so it’s not impossible.”
