Morocco and South Africa in the round of 32

Pyrotechnics 4-2 in Atlanta between Morocco and Haiti on the last day of group C of the World Cup 2026. Migne’s team were ahead twice, taking advantage first of Bono’s own goal (10′) and then of Isidor’s goal (43′) to put themselves in command of the proceedings twice. The Moroccan reaction arrives in both cases, first with Hakimi (39′) and then with Saibari (45+1′). In the second half, Ouahbi’s substitutions made the difference: Rahimi (78′) and Yassine (89′) created the 4-2 finalewhich confirms Morocco in second place in group C with 7 points together with Brazil. Morocco pushes immediately, coming close to making it 1-0 after two minutes with Saibari, who misses a nice cross from El Khannouss by a few centimetres. After the initial scare, Haiti appears forward and finds the advantage in the 10th minute: cross into the middle by Duverne, Joseph tries with a heel but an unfortunate deflection from Bono arrives, which gives the 1-0 to Migne’s team. Immediate reaction from the Africans, but Saibari wastes the chance to make it 1-1 several times. The equalizer came in the 39th minute with Hakimi who pounced first on Placide’s short rebound after a shot from El Khannouss. The balance lasts a few turns of the clock and Haiti takes the lead again in the 43rd minute with a great strike from outside the area by Isidor. Against Morocco’s reaction and Saibari – after several missed opportunities – beat Placide at the invitation of Hakimi in the 46th minute, finishing on the 2-2 a first half of a thousand emotions.

Decisive second half

Morocco insistently tries to make it 3-2, but Placide blocks Roma midfielder El Aynaoui’s attempt and saves an almost own goal by Ade’. Ouahbi wins with substitutions and Rahimi scores the Moroccan lead in the 78th minute with a turn from Riad’s corner. In the final Yassine scores the safety goal and the 4-2 by Saibari & co.

South Africa surprises Korea

Surprise to Monterrey with South Africa beating South Korea 1-0 and achieving a surprising qualification for the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup. A match with few emotions and many mistakes on both sides. The match winner was found on the counterattack by Maseko (63′), who launched Broos’ selection in the best 32 teams of the tournament. Despite the disastrous debut against Mexico, complete with two direct expulsions, South Africa surpasses Korea on the gong, finishes second in group A with 4 points and will play for a place in the round of 16 with Canada (28 June, 9.00 pm). Third place and three points for South Korea, which hopes to qualify as the best third. Hong Myung-Bo’s team has a better goal difference (2 goals scored, 3 conceded) than Scotland (1 goal scored, 4 conceded) and should be able to get into the eight best third-placed teams.

The match

South Korea started strongly with Kim who came close to taking the lead in the 2nd minute with a header following a corner kick. Lee Kang-In was very active, touching the post with a shot in the penalty area. South Africa tries to be dangerous on the counterattack and comes close to making it 1-0 in the 30th minute with Mbatha and Makgopa, from two steps, blocked by two great reflexes from Kim Seung-Gyu. South Korea loses quality in their dribbling and in the 63rd minute South Africa scores, striking on the counter with Maseko. A few chances in the final and Broos’ team manages to secure a more than surprising qualification for the round of 32.
