Cao Bang invites T&T Group to develop the border gate economy

At the working session on the afternoon of June 26, leaders of Cao Bang province introduced socio-economic development orientation and planning of Tra Linh International Border Gate. The locality has a strategic location in the Northeast region, a long border with China, direct connection to Bach Sac city (Guangxi) and major economic centers in the West and Southwest regions of China. This is considered an important advantage for the locality to expand development space, promote trade and participate more deeply in the regional supply chain.

Mr. Le Hai Hoa, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People’s Committee, said that the border gate area is currently limited in terms of logistics infrastructure, warehouses and the scale of import-export activities. However, the province has a lot of room to re-plan the development space in a methodical way, associated with the Dong Dang – Tra Linh, Bac Kan – Cao Bang expressways and the future border gate connection system. Besides the border gate advantage, Cao Bang also has potential in agriculture, tourism, minerals and border trade economy, creating a foundation for forming support chains of services, trade and logistics.

According to the province’s orientation, Tra Linh International Border Gate will be planned according to new thinking, focusing on clarifying distinct advantages, key product lines, market segments and strategic investors. The province proposes to form a smart customs clearance zone, wharf area, dry port, processing and export processing zone, and space for industrial, logistics and service development suitable to the terrain and connectivity of the locality.

Provincial leaders expect T&T Group to participate from the research stage, completing planning, market surveys and connecting domestic and foreign partners to jointly build a border economic development model suitable for Cao Bang’s potential.

Mr. Do Quang Hien, Founder, Executive Chairman of T&T Group, said that the business is ready to accompany Cao Bang in the process of researching, surveying and proposing development directions, on the basis of promoting the local specific advantages and long-term investment orientation. The group’s capacity has been demonstrated through 33 years of construction and development. In particular, T&T Group’s strong activities are in the fields of industry, trade – import-export, smart logistics, infrastructure, energy and aviation.

The enterprise has implemented many large-scale projects across the country, and has experience in developing integrated economic ecosystems, connecting infrastructure, logistics, industry, trade and services. These are also industries suitable for the development orientation of Tra Linh border gate that Cao Bang province is aiming for.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Phan Thang An, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Council of Cao Bang province, emphasized that the locality is facing the need for rapid, sustainable growth, and is in dire need of new development models and investors with capacity, experience, and vision like T&T Group. The locality wishes to work with investors with capacity, experience and long-term vision to build a comprehensive border economic development model, creating growth momentum for the province and region.

“Cao Bang hopes to have pioneering investors accompany the locality, creating new values, not just following a specific project, investing in a specific thing, but forming a border economic ecosystem, a different border gateway,” Mr. Phan Thang An affirmed.

According to the province’s proposal, the two sides will continue to research cooperation opportunities in the process of completing planning, surveying the Chinese market, promoting trade and consider establishing a joint working group to evaluate and implement feasible projects in the near future.
