A comeback? The singer was caught partying with the ex

The singer was spotted spending her birthday in Texas with her ex Ricky Alvarez, sparking rumors of a comeback. If that’s not enough – the star also made sure to change the words about him in the song Thank U, Next

Just before another performance as part of her new Eternal Sunshine column, Ariana Grande (who celebrated her 33rd birthday yesterday), was spotted having a particularly intriguing outing in Austin, Texas. The person who accompanied her to a meal at a restaurant last Thursday is none other than her legendary ex – the dancer Ricky Alvarez. The photos of the two immediately gave rise to rumors of a comeback.

The meeting comes at precisely the timing that raised even more suspicion – during a recent concert, Ariana decided to change the words to her huge hit Thank U, Next. For those who have forgotten, Ricky danced alongside Ariana on the Honeymoon tour in 2015 and the two briefly dated, earning him a mention in a hit song where she sings that she listens to songs she wrote about him and laughs. But now, in the new show, she changed the line to a different refrain: “I wrote some songs about Ricky, now they’re still pretty amazing.”

However, those close to the singer were quick to cool the atmosphere. According to them, despite the shared history and despite the change of words, there is nothing romantic between Ariana and Ricky at the moment. The same sources insist that Ricky is just “one of the friends” who came to town to celebrate her birthday.

Spending time with the ex comes shortly after it became known that Grande and actor Ethan Slater broke up after almost three years of marriage. Despite this, insiders say that the separation was done in a good spirit and that the two are still good friends. Judging by the current encounter with Ricky, it looks like Ariana totally knows how to maintain excellent relationships with her exes.
