Vietnam Airlines opens flight route Ho Chi Minh City – Sri Lanka priced from 7 million VND

Vietnam Airlines will soon operate the Ho Chi Minh City – Colombo (Sri Lanka) route from August 16 due to the rapid increase in travel demand between the two countries, with preferential round-trip ticket prices from 7 million VND.

Flights are operated by Airbus A321 aircraft with a frequency of three times per week. Flights from Ho Chi Minh City take off on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays; return from Colombo on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

This is Vietnam Airlines’ first flight to Sri Lanka, adding direct flight options from Vietnam to South Asia. The new flight not only shortens travel time, but also facilitates tourism, trade, investment and exchange activities between the two countries.

The airline’s representative shared that the early operation of the Ho Chi Minh City – Colombo route shows positive signals from the South Asian market and the increasing demand for connection between Vietnam and Sri Lanka. This is also the latest route in Vietnam Airlines’ international network expansion plan.

Sri Lanka, an island nation known as the “Pearl of the Indian Ocean”, is famous for its tropical beaches, large tea growing regions, cultural heritage system and unique natural landscapes. Direct flights help Vietnamese tourists reach this destination more conveniently, without having to transit like before.

In the opposite direction, Sri Lankan tourists have more opportunities to explore Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hoi An, Ha Long… From Ho Chi Minh City, passengers can also connect to many of the airline’s destinations in Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia and Australia.
