Turning point in the Ukraine war? Zelensky sets new direction

At a meeting with representatives of the military, government and defense industry, the Ukrainian President Wolodimir Selenskij the direction of march for the next months of the war was determined. The main focus was on specifications for the armaments industry. “Ukraine is now in a position to produce such quantities of high-tech weapons that can exceed Russian capabilities in the long term,” Zelensky subsequently commented on Telegram.

The main focus of the meeting was on ways to increase the production capacity of the Ukrainian drone and missile program. Kiev has recently hit Russia’s oil industry and defense companies particularly hard with new weapons.

Attacks on Russian targets should continue

Zelenskiy said he had instructed the foreign and defense ministries to focus on working with partners who could bring in additional funding for production. “Investments in Ukrainian production are investments to force Russia to make peace.”

Ukraine will continue its attacks on targets in Russia. The attacks so far have shown “that the limitation of Russia’s ability to wage war depends directly on the feeling spreading among Russian social groups that the war has a direct impact on everyday life.” Kiev would continue its policy of increasing the costs of the occupation for the occupier and limiting Russia’s ability to finance the war.

Ukraine has been defending itself against the war of aggression ordered by Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin for over four years. The prospects of an early peaceful solution to the conflict are currently considered slim.
