LPBank received the Green Leadership award at AREA for two consecutive years and entered the Top 10 Vietnam Green ESG Banks, thanks to its integration of ESG into management, business and multiple solutions for customers.
The 2026 Asian Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) was held on June 26 in Malaysia. Accordingly, LPBank was honored in the Green Leadership category with the initiative “ESG Action in Practice: A Comprehensive Banking Transformation Journey”. The initiative shows the bank’s process of integrating ESG into management, operations and business activities, while expanding access to financial services for many customer groups in society.

According to the assessment of the international expert council, the bank excellently meets the criteria of optimizing resources, reducing emissions, applying green technology, promoting innovation and transparency of sustainable development commitments. In addition, LPBank continues to be honored in the Top 10 Vietnam Green ESG Banks 2026, recognizing its efforts in integrating ESG into development strategies and business operations.
Ms. Nguyen Anh Van, Deputy General Director, LPBank said that for the unit, ESG is not a trend or set of criteria to meet market requirements. The Bank defines sustainable development as a long-term strategy, integrated into all management, operations and business activities. Continuing to be recognized by prestigious domestic and international organizations is a driving force for LPBank to steadfastly pursue growth goals associated with social responsibility, environmental protection, and transparent governance.

The difference in LPBank’s ESG approach is that it puts people and access to financial services at the center. Through appropriate financial products and solutions, the unit aims to expand opportunities to access capital and formal banking services for people in rural areas, the elderly, and customer groups that still have difficulty accessing finance.
Among them, the Pension Credit program is one of the typical highlights. To date, nearly 500,000 customers in the retirement and social security groups have accessed financial solutions through LPBank’s ecosystem, contributing to improving financial access for specific customer groups.
LPBank continues to prioritize capital sources for areas that have a positive impact on the environment and society such as sustainable agricultural development, renewable energy and environmentally friendly production models. The Bank also maintains many socially responsible activities in the fields of education, health, community welfare, and accompanies programs to promote gender equality and develop sustainable livelihoods for people.
To ensure systematic implementation of ESG, the unit established a specialized group of ESG experts. The group builds an ESG governance framework, promulgates regulations for environmental and social risk management, and integrates ESG criteria into credit activities and corporate governance. These steps help the unit gradually standardize operations according to international practices on sustainable development.

According to the bank representative, if comprehensive finance is the foundation of the sustainable development strategy, then technology is the driving force to help realize ESG goals on a large scale. In recent years, the bank has invested heavily in technology infrastructure, notably the implementation of the new generation T24 core banking system, creating a foundation for product development, data management and improving transaction processing capacity.
In 2025, LPBank continues to promote the application of artificial intelligence in operations. From customer service call centers, biometric voice authentication to process automation solutions, technology is contributing to improving service quality, shortening transaction processing time and optimizing operational resources.
The bank also launched LPBank Plus – a new generation digital banking application developed with an artificial intelligence (AI)-centered orientation, in March. Integrating AI into the transaction experience helps personalize services, improve customer support capabilities and bring a smarter, more convenient financial experience.
Currently, more than 80% of LPBank customers’ transactions are performed on digital channels. Digitalizing internal processes helps reduce about 60-70% of the amount of paperwork used in operations, contributing to saving resources and reducing environmental impact. Modern technology platforms also help improve governance capacity, increase transparency and promote the integration of ESG criteria into the decision-making process.
These efforts have yielded concrete results. In 2025, the total green credit balance will reach VND 2,465 billion, focusing on the fields of renewable energy, sustainable agriculture and green economic sectors. Total greenhouse gas emissions decreased by nearly 18% compared to the previous year; Power consumption reduced by nearly 16%; Domestic water consumption decreased by nearly 20%, fuel consumption decreased by over 35%.
In the context of ESG increasingly becoming a development standard for the financial industry, the company said it is gradually transforming commitments into specific values for customers, communities and the economy.
