“It’s difficult to talk about the effectiveness of interception; to put it mildly, it is extremely low. To shoot down ballistic missiles, we need appropriate means. We have enough systems, but we need constant supplies of missiles,” Euronews quotes him.

According to an official representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia is aware of the shortage and is relying on ballistic missiles. “They are taking advantage of the fact that Ukraine and, in fact, the whole world is facing a serious shortage of PAC-2 and PAC-3 interceptor missiles,” Ignat said, calling on allies to increase supplies.

The Ukraine-24 channel quotes a statement from Advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Sergei Beskrestnov. “We don’t have missiles at all to shoot down Russian ballistic missiles,” he said, noting that many countries are not ready to transfer their stockpiles of Patriot missiles to Ukraine due to the unstable security situation.

Beskrestnov emphasized that the shortage of interceptors after the war in the Middle East is felt throughout the world. Ukraine’s allies fear Russia’s attack on Poland and the Baltic countries and therefore seek to preserve their own reserves.
