La Jornada: World Cup 2030, opportunity to expand commercial ties with Morocco

The Mexican Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (Camic) pointed out that the 2030 World Cup in Morocco, Spain and Portugal represents an opportunity for Mexican companies to explore that market beyond the sporting event, in sectors such as infrastructure, mobility, hospitality, technology, renewable energy and manufacturing.

“For Mexican companies, this country represents a concrete opportunity to diversify markets, identify new partners and participate in sectors that will have greater demand in the coming years,” said Mariana Tuma, president of Camic.

According to estimates from the Moroccan Ministry of Economy and Finance, the organization of the tournament could generate more than 100 thousand jobs annually and contribute up to 1.7 additional percentage points to GDP growth, driven by investments in infrastructure, mobility and services.

In recent years, Morocco has made progress in modernizing ports, airports and transportation corridors that facilitate its integration with markets in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. It maintains trade agreements with more than 50 nations, which can facilitate internationalization strategies for companies seeking to expand their presence outside their traditional destinations.
