Trump said that Iran asked to continue negotiations, the US agreed

US President Donald Trump announced today that the US has agreed to hold talks with Iran, after Tehran asked to continue talks.

President Trump, however, added that the ceasefire between the two countries “has ended”.

“Iran has asked us to continue the “negotiations”. We have agreed to do this, but the United States has clearly stated that the ceasefire is over,” President Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

The US president stated earlier that he no longer sees the point of continuing negotiations with Tehran after the clashes between the US and Iran. Describing the Iranian authorities as “insidious” and “crazy”, the US president claimed that the cease-fire with Tehran has already ended.
