Rafael is in talks to produce missiles for Iron Dome in India

The Israeli state-owned defense concern Rafael is negotiating with Indian defense companies to establish a production line in the country for interceptor missiles for the Iron Dome missile defense system.

Currently, interceptor missiles are produced in Israel and, since last year, in the United States. The American line is intended to supply interceptors for the US Marine Corps’ new air defense system, but will also be able to bolster production capacity for Israel if necessary.

The deployment of a production line in India will expand the ability to create and replenish reserves for the needs of the IDF, as well as reduce the cost of production and facilitate sales to other countries.

In particular, it could allow Rafael to expand sales to other countries, reduce production costs, create additional redundancy for existing production lines and strengthen the company’s position in the Indian defense market.
