The owner of the largest exhibition center in Southeast Asia collects nearly 5 billion per day from loans and investments

VEFAC, owner of the national exhibition center (VEC), earned 415 billion VND in the second quarter from interest on loans and investments, equivalent to more than 4.6 billion VND per day.

According to the second quarter financial report, Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center Joint Stock Company (VEFAC) recorded net revenue of 388 billion VND, 77 times higher than last year, thanks to the transfer of part of its real estate holdings. The fair and exhibition segment only brought this unit more than 40 billion VND last quarter, but still 10 times higher than the same period last year.

However, this company’s pre-tax profit was 504 billion VND, up 14.5% over the same period, exceeding net revenue. Profit after tax reached 401 billion, an increase of more than 15% over the same period in 2025.

Last quarter was also the time when this business reached 415 billion VND in financial revenue, equivalent to an average of 4.6 billion VND per day. In previous years, VEFAC was still profitable mainly thanks to financial activities, except for the period 2024-2025, when the real estate segment brought extraordinary results to the business.

According to notes from the financial report, as of June 30, VEFAC had more than VND 14,391 billion in loans to partners. This level is more than 3 times higher than the number at the beginning of the year, equivalent to nearly half of the business’s assets. The interest rate on these loans is 12% per year.

In the first half of the year, VEFAC recorded 509 billion VND in revenue and 540 billion VND in profit after tax. This profit decreased by over 96% compared to the same period last year (15,000 billion VND).

VEFAC is a subsidiary of Vingroup with an ownership rate of more than 85%. According to the 2025 annual report, the business is the investor of an urban area in Dong Anh commune, Hanoi with the trade name Vinhomes Global Gates. This urban area has a scale of more than 261 hectares, with a total investment capital of nearly 34,880 billion VND. However, the company transferred part of the project in the first quarter of last year.

In addition, the company is implementing a project of a commercial, service and mixed-use center complex at 148 Giang Vo, Giang Vo ward, Hanoi. This unit is also the owner of the national exhibition center (VEC), the largest in Southeast Asia, in Dong Anh area.

As of the end of the second quarter, VEFAC’s total assets reached more than 32,900 billion VND, an increase of 40% compared to the beginning of the year. Among them, the strongest improvement item is money lent to other organizations. The amount of money buyers paid in advance to the company increased nearly 50 times after half a year, to VND 8,327 billion.
