– He hasn’t played for six months and we have to introduce him slowly. He plays in a very demanding position, so we have to be careful with him. When he fully recovers, it will be a big boost, but we have to go step by step.

It was all a product of Hajduk’s good actions, but I lacked energy. Only now we have three or four games coming up in which we will look for points. This should have been a good prelude, but we were missing a few plays. All this has its reasons, but it is not an excuse. We don’t want to get away with it. Hajduk was better and deservedly won. We were out of ideas.
How many points would you be satisfied with after the first round?
– I don’t see it that way. First we have the Cup, and then three games, each of which is very important. We have to collect points and that is the most important thing for us now.
Will there be more reinforcements?
– We miss the game. Zebi arrivedć from Dinamo and I expect a lot from him, but also from others. Taraba arrived a few days ago, another midfielder arrived… It’s hard to fit it all in right away. We are going to prepare well for Koprivnica, and then we have a three-week break that will serve us as new preparations. What we did during the preparations is completely different from what we have now, from the staff that is currently available. I’m glad that the new games have arrived and that now I have more width. The only major criticism for today’s game is the lack of aggressiveness.
Lovrić and Fernandes came off the bench today?
– I am satisfied with their will and desire, but it is evident that they lack rhythm and it will take time for them to catch it. These are big games that will be useful to us. Mož may not be fully ready yet, but I put them in so they can feel the rhythm of the match. They have the will and desire, and we have to prepare them well.
