“I can’t rule out anything.” Romanos Petrosyan about the possible review of Konjoryan’s candidacy

“Freedom” was particularly interested: “is it possible to reconsider the issue of Hayk Konjoryan’s nomination, because in any case his brother is also in history, and your code of ethics also sets rules regarding the behavior of relatives?”, Romanos Petrosyan answered. “I can’t comment on that and I can’t rule anything out.”

The other day it became known that Hayk Konjoryan’s brother, the ruling “Civil Pact” member of the National Assembly, was beaten.

The incident took place on the night of July 23. The Investigative Committee informs that a criminal proceeding has been initiated “with the characteristics of physical aggression and hooliganism by a group of persons”.

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan, referring to the incident, responded. “We have to look at the issue from two angles. Of course, I have seen the press releases. First of all, legal, criminal, and our law enforcement agencies should find out the situation and the culprits, if any… everything should be processed in accordance with the relevant law. And from the point of view of party discipline, we have institutions in the party that have worked and are working and there have been such cases, unfortunately, when we, for example, removed people from the party for various reasons.”

Hayk Konjoryan and Vahagn Aleksanyan were elected to the positions of vice presidents of the National Assembly by secret ballot at the meeting of the “Civil Agreement” party board.

According to the law, the third deputy speaker of the National Assembly must be a representative of the opposition.
