Two young Russians killed in Thailand, suspects detained

Their mother Zarina spoke about the disappearance of Diana and Roman on July 26. “My children, daughter Diana (22 years old) and son Roman (17 years old), disappeared in Pattaya last night. The last time cameras recorded them leaving on a motorcycle at about four in the morning. After that, contact with them was completely lost, their phones were turned off,” she said.

The family moved from Russia to Thailand five years ago. On the eve of her disappearance, Diana told her mother that she felt like someone was watching her, writes Meduza.

Zarina Nazimova wrote that during the search for her children, they found the motorcycle on which her children left. The Thairath publication reported that the motorcycle was dismantled into parts and buried in the ground on the territory of the cemetery.

The Thai police on July 30 reported the arrest of two men named Hoi and Phang. They were suspected of helping the kidnappers. The detainees themselves denied guilt. They were released a few hours later.

The next day, police detained two more suspects – they turned out to be 43-year-old Thanu and 39-year-old Thongchai. According to Khaosod, during interrogation they admitted to killing the Russians. They claim that they tried to steal the motorcycle on which Diana and Roman were riding. When they resisted, the attackers shot Roman and beat Diana, after which she died. The suspects took their bodies away and buried them in the mountains in Chonburi province.
