Jere Haavisto won the European Championship gold in motocross

KTM Silve Racing’s Haavisto is the first Finnish motocross European champion in 22 years. In 2004, the trick succeeded Matti Seistola.

Haavisto controlled the events of the weekend convincingly. He was the fastest in qualifying with a difference of 2.2 seconds. In the first round, the ylöjärvi native lost a bit of his positions at the start, but in the end won clearly by 14 seconds. The second set ended with Haavisto’s party with an even bigger difference.

“The foundations of the time trial and the wins in both events, one can only be satisfied. We set out to get the European championship and it was achieved,” commented Haavisto in the team’s press release.
