Garik Boshyan has been appointed manager of the Yerevan Ararat Brandy-Wine-Vodka Plant, Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan reported.

The Yerevan Ararat Brandy-Wine-Vodka Plant, owned by the family of the detained Gagik Tsarukyan, has been transferred to the management and maintenance of the Republic of Armenia by the decision of the Anti-Corruption Court, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.

The Prosecutor General’s Office, in a lawsuit for the confiscation of illegally acquired property, is demanding the confiscation of several dozen immovable and movable properties, participation in legal entities from Gagik Tsarukyan and his associates, the total monetary claim is 105 billion 865 million 865 thousand drams.

The Prosecutor General’s Office also announced earlier that the management and maintenance of the Ararat Cement Plant, owned by the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, businessman Gagik Tsarukyan, has been transferred to the executive branch. According to the prosecutor’s office, the Anti-Corruption Committee made such a decision within the framework of the proceedings on the confiscation of property of illegal origin.

Gagik Tsarukyan has been detained since July 7, and large companies belonging to his family have been frozen. Tsarukyan is accused of committing fraud and money laundering on a particularly large scale.
