Google’s Gemini ‘app’ has become one of the fastest growing products of the company by exceeding 1,000 million monthly active users.

Google CEO, Sundar Pichai, has announced on his X account (formerly Twitter) that the Gemini application, based on generative Artificial Intelligence (AI)has surpassed 1,000 million users.

In fact, Pichai points out that it has become the Google’s fourteenth product to cross the 1 billion mark.

This milestone achieved by Google has more meaning when refer specifically to the ‘app’ independent of Gemini, which excludes AI users from other channels such as AI Mode, which already exceeded 1 billion when Google I/O 2026 was announced last year.

The technology company has shared some data about the use of the chatbot-based application. 63 percent of Gemini users use voice with the assistant, in addition to Gemini generating 150 million images with AI daily.

Additionally, Gemini is helping users solve real problems through live broadcasts and by sharing the screen, one of the key functions of Google’s AI ‘app’, as can be read in the announcement on its blog.

There is another revealing fact that has to do with another ecosystem, since Gemini has more than 100 million active users on iOS.

This growth for Gemini follows the pace of the 950 million monthly users that were recorded in the presentation of results for the second quarter of 2026, and triples the number of active users from last year.

The announcement comes after the presentation of Gemini 3.6 Flash and other models, and the replacement of Google Assistant with Gemini on Android, which makes Google’s AI the central axis of mobile phones based on this operating system.
