A new application will allow you to manage your history on social networks

A new application called My-Rep, which is being launched these days, will allow users to manage their history on social networks and easily locate posts, comments and shares from the past that today may be interpreted negatively.

The problem affects many Israelis against the background of the sharp decline in Israel’s image around the world. Content written years ago, sometimes in a completely different context, may take on a new meaning in the eyes of employers, institutions, authorities or private parties, and affect professional, educational or public opportunities. Whether it is a trip to a foreign country, hiring, appointment to a public position or any situation where our digital presence is examined – old advertising may resurface and affect the way people are perceived.

Today, people have no idea what is in their social history, and they really have no way to go through the hundreds and thousands of posts and comments they have published over the years. This is where My-Rep comes in, allowing you to easily find problematic expressions and remove them before someone else misuses them.

The user downloads his activity history from the social network and uploads it for review. The AI ​​system analyzes years of activity and marks content that may be interpreted as offensive, violent, inflammatory, extremist or as having the potential to damage reputation. For each posting, an explanation is given as to why it was flagged, along with a direct link to the original posting, so the user can decide for himself whether to keep it, edit it, or delete it.

One of the prominent features of the system is the emphasis on privacy. The use of My-Rep does not require the creation of an account, identification or providing any access information to the social networks. The user only uploads the activity history file that he downloaded himself, and all preparation and processing steps are performed locally on his computer. Only the texts required for scanning are sent for analysis, without identifying information, so that the test is carried out completely anonymously and privately throughout the entire process.
