Basketball star Russell Westbrook has ended his career and will not play his 19th year in the NBA. The 37-year-old announced this via his social network pages. “Sometimes you don’t even know when you’ve seen the end. You should have been there. And now it’s over,” Westbrook wrote on X.
The point guard was most recently active for the Sacramento Kings. He played most of his career for the Oklahoma City Thunder, after which he also played for the Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets and ultimately the Kings.
The nine-time All-Star player in the best basketball league in the world won the Olympic gold medal with the USA in 2012, but the NBA title was denied to the 2017 MVP.
