Trump announces the departure of White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Wednesday the departure of White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt from his cabinet, who will become part of his external advisors.

“Our wonderful White House press secretary, and one of my most trusted collaborators, Karoline Leavitt, will leave her position at the end of the month to be able to spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision that I fully understand and respect!” she indicated on her social networks.

The president has specified that Leavitt is leaving office but will serve as “one of (his) main external advisors and an influential voice within the Republican Party” ahead of the midterm elections scheduled for November.

Trump has highlighted the “authentic” leadership of his former spokesperson within the White House, as well as his “phenomenal work for justice and freedom” and, in particular, his “historic 2024 re-election campaign.”

Leavitt, for her part, thanked the White House tenant for choosing her for a position that she said has been an “honor and the adventure of a lifetime.”

Already on her personal social media account, she has confirmed the reason for her departure, a decision that she described as “bittersweet”, claiming that “after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mother that my two little children deserve while I dedicate the time, energy and constant attention that the White House Spokesperson requires.”

Likewise, he has reported that he has agreed, at Trump’s request, to serve as “his main advisor from the outside”, while ensuring that he will continue his “firm” defense of the MAGA movement and the Republican Party.

“Our country faces an existential threat from an increasingly extremist Democratic Party that seeks to destroy everything great about America, and I believe it is incumbent on all of us who care about this country to fight that threat. My fight is entering a new phase, but it is far from over,” he said.
