UK: two Iranians accused of planning a terrorist attack against the Jewish community

British police have announced that two Iranian nationals, aged in their thirties, have been charged with involvement in plotting a terrorist attack against the Jewish community of Manchester.

According to the indictment, they planned to carry out a terrorist attack on the previous Yom Kippur, September 20, or shortly before that.

It is also reported that, according to the investigation, the accused maintained contact with a third party abroad, which could be Iran.

Senior counter-terrorism police co-ordinator Vicky Evans said the arrests were the result of a lengthy investigation that prevented an attack on the Jewish community in the Manchester area.
