The Lebanese General Security Service detained an Afghan citizen on suspicion of trying to establish contact with Israeli intelligence services. This was reported by the MTV channel, information was also published by the Lebanese LebanonFiles and VDL News.
According to MTV, the man was detained when he went to the general security service to fill out documents. A check of his phone revealed that he was trying to contact several Israeli accounts, including the account of former Arabic-speaking IDF spokesman Avichai Adrai.
The man allegedly offered to provide Israel with information about Hezbollah and various targets in Lebanon, but did not receive a response to his messages.
The government commissioner at the Military Court, Claude Ghanem, charged the detainee with attempting to establish contact with Israel and transmit information to it. The case was transferred to the investigating judge of the military court, Ghada Bou-Alwan.
