Garmin is expanding its line of watches, two Fenix ​​have arrived, the battery lasts and lasts

Both models bring new possibilities for tracking training, including Garmin Epic, a feature that can combine multiple activities into one unit within the Garmin Connect application. Users can thus connect activities performed over several days, weeks or months, review health and performance data, add photos and share the whole story.

One of the novelties is more advanced durability metrics. Endurance zones and endurance curves should show users how their endurance changes over time, taking into account physical fitness and training history.

Fēnix 9 gets a brighter AMOLED and faster cards

The Fēnix 9 brings an AMOLED screen that, according to Garmin, is twice as bright as the one on the previous model. The watch has sapphire glass, waterproof buttons and is intended for use when diving up to 40 meters deep.

Garmin has also improved navigation. The watch now has 50 percent more RAM memory, while the new map display system should enable scrolling through them up to 30 percent faster. There is also a new perspective view that provides more information about the part of the route that is in front of the user.

Built-in memory with a capacity of 64 GB enables the storage of twice as many maps as in the fēnix 8 model, as well as up to 7000 songs.

News has also arrived for more specific trainings. When rowing indoors, it is possible to monitor VO2 Max and the power curve, while the rucking functions have been expanded to include the possibility of changing the weight of the backpack during the activity, performing GORUCK training, and setting target metrics for loads of up to 100 kilograms.

Fēnix 9 Pro is the first in the series with a titanium case

Fēnix 9 Pro brings all the features of the standard model, but also several significant hardware innovations. Garmin points it out as the first model from the fēnix series with a titanium case.

Pro models have AMOLED screens with a brightness of up to 3000 nits, which should make it easier to read data and maps in direct sunlight.

The 51 mm model, which has a 1.5-inch AMOLED screen, stands out in particular. Garmin states that the screen is 15 percent larger than on the fēnix 8 model, while the dimensions of the case have not been increased.

Select versions of the fēnix 9 Pro also have a solar-charged screen, and Garmin claims several weeks of battery life. The integrated LED lamp has also received a new way of working with green light, which is intended for use during the night and to preserve night vision.

Satellite and LTE connection without phone

One of the more important novelties of selected fēnix 9 Pro models is built-in inReach connectivity. It enables communication without a smartphone, including voice calls, text messages and sending SOS messages.

Garmin Response, Garmin’s coordination center for help, is also available to users with an active inReach subscription. available 24 hours a day.

LTE connectivity also brings several additional possibilities. LiveTrack notifications can be sent through the Garmin Messenger app so that selected people know when the user has started an activity and can track their movement. The new Garmin Locate function enables location sharing with loved ones, while the weather forecast for a specific location can be sent directly to the watch via LTE or satellite connection.

For the first time, inReach connectivity is available in all fēnix 9 Pro model sizes – 43, 47 and 51 mm.

The battery lasts for weeks

Garmin states that fēnix 9 in the highest performance can last up to 29 days in smart watch mode.

Fēnix 9 Pro with AMOLED screen in the largest version offers up to 31 days of operation, while versions with solar charging can, according to Garmin, reach up to 57 days of battery life.

New ComfortFit fabric belts are also available for both models. Garmin says they combine stretch, softness, durability and moisture resistance, and use the QuickFit system for easy replacement.
