Epstein case, Sarah Ferguson returns to the United Kingdom: exile and new rented house

Sarah Ferguson should return “soon” in the UK after spending the last few months away from public life. This was reported to the BBC by a source close to the former Duchess of York, who according to the Sun would be ready to move, perhaps as early as next week, in a six-bedroom rental property in the Home Counties. Ferguson has reportedly spent the last few months predominantly in an Alpine chalet in Verbier, Switzerland, after leaving the Royal Lodge in Windsor last October, where she lived with ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The Epstein scandal

Ferguson and her ex-husband had renounced their royal titles following the controversy over their respective links with Jeffrey Epstein, the financier convicted of sexual crimes and who died in prison in 2019. The former duchess, who returned to using her maiden name Ferguson, had once again come under pressure after the publication of documents that had revealed new details about her relationships with Epstein, without however indicating any wrongdoing on her part. His expected return comes just days after Prince Harry and Meghan returned to Britain with their children, after six years spent in the United States.
