Ukraine-Russia, war news today: ammunition depot explodes, raid causes massacre near Kiev

Russia continues raids on Ukraine. Last night, following an attack by a Russian drone, an ammunition depot exploded in Myla, in the Bucha district, near Kiev. The toll from the massacre is 37 dead and 42 injured. Nearly 400 people were forced to leave their homes. Tomorrow will be a day of mourning in the Kiev region.

Il exploded site is a warehouse “of the Kiev military forces”. Inside, ammunition, mines and drones, announced the Ukrainian president, Volodymir Zelensky, in a post in which he explains that “the Attorney General, the Interior Ministry, the security services and the general staff have everything they need for the investigation”.

“It’s a terrible situation and a terrible act of negligence on the part of those who placed explosives in a residential area. The warehouse shouldn’t have been there at all. Another crime of this kind, after what happened (last July 6th, ed.) in Vyshneve, and it is absolutely unacceptable”, added Zelensky.

The Ukrainian prime minister, Serhiy Koretskyi, denounced the “criminal negligence” that led to the explosion of the warehouse and he also cited the similar episode that occurred in Vyshneve. “It did not serve as a lesson. In the fifth year of war, making the same mistakes is criminal negligence. Those responsible, without exception, must be seriously punished,” he said.

Kiev denounces Moscow planning against Kiev and Chernihiv targets

Russian military commands are planning operations against Kiev and Chernihiv on instructions from the Kremlin, the deputy chief of staff of the Ukrainian President, Pavlo Palisa, denounced, citing information gathered by Ukrainian intelligence through various analyses. However, these are possible scenarios, not an immediate offensive, he specified, reiterating the forecast of a new mobilization in Russia immediately after the legislative elections, in all probability the first week of October, for the recruitment of 300-500 thousand new recruits.
