NXTPAPER AMOLED visual health technology stars in the new TCL mobile series: “It’s something that no one has”

TCL has presented the new TCL P80 series of mobile phones at IFA 2026, held in Berlin, which debuts NXTPAPER AMOLED technology and which elevates the base experience by reducing glare and blue light exposure with the vivid colors and contrast known from AMOLED panels; a framework that the company has taken advantage of to share some data on its performance in Spain and Europe.

TCL’s presentation at IFA 2026 was packed with new products, ranging from the new TCL P80 series or the TAB A1 tablets to the modular family robot with Artificial Intelligence (AI) for children called AiMe and televisions with SQD-Mini LED technology.

Added to this are the new screen technologies, that TCL’s Technology Director, Daniel Sun, has assured, in statements to Europa Press, that they will arrive soon.

“What is new in the field of screens is the Inkjet printed OLED. We already have some 27-inchers in series production and we are building more factories. It is the new OLED that helps us be more efficient in manufacturing costs,” said Sun, sharing the company’s future lines in an area as crucial for it as screens.

Another novelty is the technology of NXTPAPER AMOLED screenwhich is the favorite of TCL Europe Marketing Director, Stefan Streit, of all the products presented at IFA 2026. “It is a great advance. I love the NXTPAPER screen in itself, but now having AMOLED I like it much more personally,” as he assured Europa Press.

TCL has used its experience in displays to offer a innovation designed for people and in the many hours of daily use of screens, to which the manager stressed that “if you can do something healthier, also for children… that is something unique.”

The manager assures that NXTPAPER AMOLED is a great advance in the viewing experience of a mobile phone screen, since it not only reduces reflections and attenuates blue light to reduce eye fatiguebut also retains the best virtues of AMOLED screens, such as the contrast of their blacks and the vivid colors they present.

In fact, Streit has indicated that he hopes that the consumer will appreciate the value of NXTPAPER AMOLED technology. “It’s something that no one has,” reiterates the manager, commenting then that it is not only a series that has a single screen technology, but that they are mobile phones with good features.

“During the day you need to do a lot of things and then, maybe in the afternoon, you just want to read or disconnect a little,” Streit said about the physical NXTPAPER Key button located on the right side, which allows the user to toggle between a normal color mode and one that turns the screen into a grayscale e-ink reader.

“With the NXTPAPER key you can turn it into a kind of e-book reader. It is still the AMOLED screen, but it goes to black and whitewhich is very good for reading,” the manager has conveyed about the duality of the screen of the two TCL P80 series phones with this technology.

In fact, the Eye protection is the basis for NXTPAPER technologyAccording to Streit: “The idea started during COVID, when children had to go to school through a screen and we wanted to have a solution to protect their eyesight. It is the first time we have an AMOLED screen with NXTPAPER.”

“What we know from studies is that two thirds of consumers complain of visual fatigue, of eye fatigue. The solution with NXTPAPER is different: others put anti-glare or eye protection, but then everything turns yellow,” clarifies Streit, stating that the solution provided by TCL is hardware thanks to a screen that has a dozen layers and that their joint action manages to filter all the harmful blue light in the AMOLED until it is left at 2.3 percent.

In fact, the new mobile phones have ‘Max Ink’ mode, that elevates the digital well-being experience of the series and that, apart from the grayscale screen, minimizes the notifications that reach the mobile by being able to “choose three apps from which you continue to receive notifications, but not the rest”, which Streit has called “a little digital ‘detox’“.

The TCL P80 series is made up of the P80 Ultra, with a 50 Mpx periscope camera with 3x zoom as one of its best specifications; the TCL P80 Pro, with a 5,800 mAh battery and the possibility of purchasing a unit with 512 GB of internal memory; and the third in the series, which dispenses with NXTPAPER AMOLED, although it maintains an AMOLED panel.

TCL IN SPAIN AND EUROPE

TCL Europe’s _Marketing Director has shared that last year TCL grew at a very fast pace in Europe, “more than 32% in a market that was negative“, which allowed it to surpass the sector with great force.

Likewise, with regard to Spain, Streit has highlighted that The brand ranked thirdwith the television as a very competitive product thanks to vertical integration, the axis on which its strategy is based. And TCL manufactures its own panels, which it then mounts on its televisions, thus avoiding buying them from third parties, which allows it to better adjust costs.

“We grow more in the value segmentbut we also want to enter more into the premium range,” says the manager about the brand’s performance. Streit is also confident of maintaining this progression. “Once television reaches shares close to 20% in some markets, there are still appliances, air conditioning and mobile phones, and many other opportunities to grow,” he says.

A diversification towards an increasingly broader ecosystem with which the company seeks to “carry all product categories”, although always as a “long-term” bet and with a market that “must be prepared, step by step,” the manager adds.
