Xiaomi presents the 18 Fold, its passport-type folding with its own chip and 6,000 mAh battery

The Chinese company Xiaomi has presented the Xiaomi 18 Fold in China as a passport-type folding that has the largest battery in this type of form factor, which has been popularized thanks to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8.

At the launch event, which could be followed live from the official X account (formerly Twitter) of the founder and CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, the Chinese company gave all the details of its folding mobile phone, which it exhibited at IFA 2026 in Berlin.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is characterized by having a 5.38-inch exterior screen and a 7.58-inch interior screenwith a form factor that is becoming a trend thanks to the sales success of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8. Likewise, the Chinese brand incorporates Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0 to protect it against falls.

Due to the importance of its shape and weight in this type of device, the Xiaomi 18 Fold when unfolded reaches dimensions of 117.8 x 163.8 x 5.02 mm (closed it has a thickness of 10.68 mm) and a weight 219g.

Xiaomi XRING O3 is the chip of the new foldable designed by the Chinese manufacturer, which is characterized by its ten-core CPU and a 16-core G2-Ultra NX GPU, accompanied by LPDDR6 RAM, which makes it the first smartphone to incorporate this type of memory.

The new folding has a Leica camera system composed of a 200 Mpx main lens, a 50 Mpx periscope-type telephoto lens with 3.5x zoom and a 50 Mpx ultra wide angle lens.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold launches a 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is It converts the largest capacity into a ‘passport’ type foldable, and offers 67W wired and 50W wireless charging. It comes with Xiaomi HyperOS 4, the custom layer based on Android 17 and powered by SuperXiaoAI 2.0 Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The price of the Xiaomi 18 Fold in China starts from 10,999 yuan (1,408 euros at the exchange rate) in its variant with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.

The rest of the configurations reach 11,999 yuan (1,536 euros at the exchange rate) for the 12 GB + 512 GB version, 12,999 yuan (1,664 euros) for the 16 GB + 512 GB version, and 14,999 yuan (1,920 euros) for the 16 GB + 1 TB version. The special ceramic version costs 15,999 yuan (2,048 euros).
