Rockstar Games reveals the first artists of the GTA 6 soundtrack

Rockstar Games has begun to reveal the first group of artists who will make up the radios of Grand Theft Auto VI, entrusting the announcement not to an official press release but to a coordinated rollout on social networks. Each interpreter involved published on their profiles a cut-out fragment of an illustration attributable to the imagery of the game, a way to confirm their participation without the studio having to provide additional details. The strategy, already tested by other productions to generate anticipation around a launch, allowed Rockstar to spread the news through the channels of the artists themselves, multiplying its reach.

Confirmed names include Travis Scott, Morgan Wallen, Future, Metro Boomin, Rauw Alejandro, the duo CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Keith Richards, PinkPantheress, Lisa, Yung Lean and Fred again. The list brings together distant genres: from trap to hip-hop, from country to reggaeton, up to experimental electronica, in a selection that reflects Rockstar’s ambition to build a soundtrack capable of speaking to audiences very different in age and musical taste.

What surprised fans the most was the presence of Keith Richards, historic guitarist of the Rolling Stones, combined with artists of subsequent generations such as PinkPantheress or Yung Lean. The combination confirms the studio’s desire not to limit itself to the hits of the moment, but to build a sound panorama that intertwines consolidated rock icons and emerging figures of the contemporary scene, in the wake of what has already been done with the radio soundtracks of the previous chapters of the series.

The involvement of producers such as Metro Boomin, in addition to their respective singers, also suggests that some of the tracks present in the game could be unreleased or created specifically for GTA VI, following a practice already adopted by Rockstar in the past to strengthen the link between the soundtrack and the identity of the title. It is not yet clear whether this first wave of announcements represents the entire musical cast of the game or just a first taste of a list destined to expand in the coming weeks.
