Environment, Baffigo (Piùblu): “Three days of sport and activities in Rome to protect sustainability”

“The weekend was born four years ago in Rome and the second edition saw three cities involved, then seven and now we are all over Italy at rowing, canoeing and kayaking clubs. Athletes are invited during World River Day to clean them because it is essential to do sport in a healthy environment, in a clean environment”. Thus the vice president of Piùblu, Domitilla Baffigo, at the press conference to launch the ‘We Can Blu It’ event which will be held in Rome on 25, 26 and 27 September on the Tiber.

“Why the athletes? Because thanks to their tenacity, we want to carry forward our project, our dream, that of teaching environmental education, because it is fundamental”, he continued. Then she focused on the first Tiber Skiff which will be held during the We can Blu It. “We are very proud to launch it. This is inspired by the Silver Schiff in Turin. We welcomed it and organized this incredible three days. On Saturday 26 September in Rome there will be the first international rowing competition which will involve athletes from all over the world”.

“The start will be at Ponte della Musica and the arrival will be at Castel Sant’Angelo. We are very proud because for the first time there will be a singles competition on the Tiber. Citizens, as well as tourists, will be able to go down and truly admire this wonderful river”, he continued and then concluded that “the three days will also include many different activities in our sustainability village, where we have invited all the associations that deal with the environment. There must be a very strong bond between us because only together can we do something different.”.
