German Ice Hockey League: Eisbären Berlin win 2-0 in Frankfurt

The Eisbären Berlin have continued their successful streak in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). On Friday evening, the German champions won 2-0 (0-0, 2-0, 0-0) at the Löwen Frankfurt and thus achieved their third win in a row.

Brandon Davidson and Liam Kirk scored for the Berliners, who put on a concentrated performance for over sixty minutes. Goalkeeper Jonas Neffin kept a clean sheet for the second game in a row.

The 6,597 spectators in the Frankfurt ice rink saw a fast and intense game from the start with several chances on both sides. However, Neffin and his counterpart Adam Scheel made good saves to ensure that the first break went into the first break without any goals.

After the restart, the guests increased the pressure and took the lead in the 28th minute with Davidson’s first DEL goal. The Canadian defender, who moved to Berlin at the beginning of September, beat Scheel with a long-range shot. Kirk extended the lead after a counterattack (36′).

In the final third, Neffin was able to parry a penalty from Frankfurt attacker Anthony Romano (46th). The Berliners then consistently defended their lead so that the away win was no longer in danger.
