Fuels, Melons in Kuwait: "Q8 available to extend the cap on petrol and diesel"

Defense, security and strategic technologies

In the field of defense and security, the implementation of the defense agreement signed in Rome on 13 January 2026 is recalled, with the possibility of joint activities and exercises, training and exchanges between militaries.

The dialogue will extend to space, cyber defense, artificial intelligence and quantum technologies.

The signing of an agreement is also expected between Carabinieri e Kuwaiti National Guardas well as cooperation on coastal patrol, sea rescue and protection of strategic infrastructure.

Energy and energy transition

For energy, a hot topic of the moment, collaboration on the energy transition is certified according to the principle of technological neutrality.

The plan points up renewable and low-emission hydrogen, biofuels, biogas, energy storage and CO2 capture, use and storage.

Interventions are also planned on electricity networks and supply chains for critical and strategic minerals.

Trade and investment

On the business front, the focus is on supporting trade and industrial partnerships, especially between small and medium-sized enterprises, through guarantees, insurance and export credit.

And economic and investment forum will be organized at least every two years.

Infrastructure, tourism and fight against crime

And again, Meloni and Al-Sabah confirmed the cooperation between connectivity and data center operators, projects for agri-food districts, combating desertification and better water management.

On tourism, support for investments and the creation of direct air links.

Joint investigation teams will be promoted against transnational crime and for the recovery of illicit proceeds, with collaboration against money laundering, cybercrime and trafficking in people, drugs, weapons and cultural goods.

Research, healthcare and cultural cooperation

There will also be space for archaeology, medical research, strengthening public health, inclusion of people with disabilities and youth and sports cooperation.
