Villarreal sign goalkeeper Luiz Junior from Famalicao

Spanish football club Villarreal announced the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Luiz Junior from Portuguese club Famalicao for six years.
The two clubs did not disclose the value of the deal, but Spanish media reported that Villarreal paid about 12 million euros ($13 million) to obtain the services of the 23-year-old goalkeeper.

“He is 1.93 metres tall, has quick reactions between the posts and is good in the air. He is a very talented goalkeeper with a great future ahead of him,” Villarreal said in a statement.

Luiz Junior has made 140 appearances for Famalicao, since joining their academy at the age of 18.
He will replace Philip Jorgensen at Villarreal, who joined Chelsea last month, on a seven-year contract.
Villarreal visit Sevilla in the league on Friday, after drawing 2-2 at home to Atletico Madrid in their opening match.
