In a recent update for Android, Vivaldi, the browser created by Jon Stephenson, the former CEO of Opera, added support for playing YouTube audio in the background while watching other tabs.

The performance-enhancing elements in this update, version 5.7, will enable users to save “seconds or even minutes even with thousands of open tabs.”

Playing YouTube music while browsing is one of the novelties added in this new version of Vivaldi without the need for a premium account for this Google service.

It will only be necessary to navigate to the Settings menu and select the ‘Allow background audio playback’ tab in order to enable this feature. The video will pause if you switch between apps without having it activated.

You can also turn off the automatic playback of videos, which are typically linked to ads, with the most recent Vivaldi update. The browser automatically uses this function.

However, the business has stated that the browser now provides a quicker opening speed, irrespective of the quantity of open tabs while browsing.

He has also claimed that the Vivaldi 5.7 update adds a new user interface (UI) that is designed for tablets, Chromebooks, or car displays. This interface offers “a flexible design with a distinctive side panel” to maximize panel space.
