The IDF and the Ministry of Finance agreed to cancel the salary cuts for long-term conscripts

The Israel Defense Forces and the Ministry of Finance have signed a new agreement on the payment of long-term service (“anshei keva”), according to which the planned reduction in their salaries from next year to 2027 by 2.8% will be canceled.

This salary reduction will be applied to the rest of the public sector employees: we are talking about a planned reduction in the salaries of civil servants as part of compensating for the state’s military expenses.

It was also decided that the salaries of long-term military personnel will be gradually increased over the next two years. The size of the increase depends on ranks and positions, we are talking about an increase of up to 9% over the next two years.

This increase is in addition to the one percent increase in salaries under the previous agreement with the Histadrut, which will come into force in April 2027.

The IDF emphasizes the need for additional economic incentives for contract soldiers in light of the layoffs currently occurring in the army among officers and warrant officers.
