They sell diesel and Premium at more than 30 pesos per liter

The price of Premium gasoline (red) and diesel already exceeds 30 pesos per liter in some service stations in the country, due to the international escalation of oil, and the private sector recognized that this already impacts commerce and services.

According to the National Energy Commission (CNE), at service stations in Jalisco and Baja California Sur, the two fuels are sold above average and in some stores they exceed 30.60 pesos per liter.

Until yesterday, the price of high-octane gasoline was 27.70 pesos nationally, and that of diesel was 28.68 pesos.

The main factor that has caused the increase in the price of both fuels is the increase in global crude oil prices due to the conflict in the Middle East.

Prices also vary in the country, because while in Mexico City red gasoline and diesel were 28.09 and 28.49 pesos, respectively, in Jalisco they averaged 28.48 and 28.62 pesos, and in Nuevo León, 28.14 and 27.98 pesos.

Except at some service stations, the price of regular or Magna gasoline yesterday remained at less than 24 pesos per liter. In addition, this fuel maintains a weekly subsidy until this Friday, and a fiscal stimulus is also applied to the other two.

Octavio de la Torre de Stéffano, president of the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco-Servytur), acknowledged in a conference that the rise in energy prices already has an impact on this sector.

The leader said that data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography show that in the first 15 days of March, air transportation increased 21.86 percent because the cost of jet fuel has increased.

The leader recognized the efforts of the Mexican government to mitigate the impact of the increase in fuel prices through subsidies, which benefits the entire production chain, including transportation.
