Papikyan discussed Armenian-French cooperation in the field of defense with Macron’s advisor

Armenia’s Defense Minister Suren Papikyan and French President’s military advisor, head of the special military staff Vincen Giraud discussed issues related to cooperation in the defense sector.

They also talked about issues related to international security.

Suren Papikyan arrived in France today on an official visit.

He also met with representatives of French defense companies in the “French International Enterprises Movement” organization.

According to the military department, issues related to cooperation between the RA Ministry of Defense and the French military industry enterprises were discussed.

In October 2023, Armenia and France signed agreements on cooperation in the military sector, according to which France provides Armenia with radars and missiles, as well as advice on army reforms.

Yerevan and Paris regularly emphasize that France only provides defense equipment to Armenia.

Yerevan has announced that it is diversifying its relations in the security sphere to a certain extent, and the reforms of the army in Armenia do not have any aggressive context.
