Photovoltaics: the end (or almost) for the purchase of electricity

It’s a page that is turning. Since 2007, the date of the opening of the energy markets in France, and in particular that of electricity, individuals who took care to equip the roof of their house with photovoltaic panels, had the choice between two options: either self-consume the electricity directly produced by their installation; or resell the surplus to a buyer. Including EDF OA (for Purchase Obligation), a dedicated entity, created at the request of public authorities.

This will soon no longer be the case. A draft decree providing for three major changes to residential photovoltaics will be examined during the Higher Energy Council (CSE) which is being held this Thursday. Objective: reduce public subsidies, to preserve state coffers; but also empower the sector.
