FPT Deputy General Director: We have made many efforts to stabilize stock prices

At the annual meeting held on April 16, the issue that shareholders of FPT Corporation were most concerned about was the fact that the company’s stock price has continuously decreased over the past year, while the general market increased by about 600 points. At the end of today’s trading session, FPT market price was at more than 74,000 VND per unit, down nearly 20% since mid-April last year.

Responding to the record number of shareholders attending the meeting, Mr. Nguyen The Phuong, Deputy General Director of FPT, said that stock price movements over the past year have gone down according to the global context. Investors have adjusted the valuation of information technology service businesses due to concerns about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI).

Many large enterprises in the technology industry such as Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services or Accenture all recorded a decrease in capitalization of 40%, equivalent to the adjustment level of FPT. “This reflects the caution of global investors before major changes brought about by AI,” Mr. Phuong said.

In that context, Mr. The Phuong shared that FPT has made many efforts to stabilize the current situation, with priority given to maintaining sustainable growth and ensuring jobs for workers. In fact, in the first quarter, personnel in FPT Software’s global technology services segment still grew, showing that demand for this segment in the world is on the rise.

In addition, the business also promotes communication activities to help investors better understand FPT’s orientation, strategy and long-term prospects. Regarding more specific measures, the board of directors will consider buying shares in the near future, on the basis of ensuring shareholder benefits and appropriate market conditions.

Regarding the stock story, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT, also expressed his sympathy with shareholders when the stock market price dropped sharply, while the market was still going up. Mr. Binh said that international organizations assess that not many companies can maintain a double-digit growth rate continuously for 10 years like FPT, so the growth expectations placed on the business are also greater.

However, FPT Chairman still maintains faith in the corporation’s long-term prospects. “In the next 5-10 years, FPT can master the country’s core technologies, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world’s leading corporations in the fields of digital transformation and AI,” Mr. Binh said.

In 2026, FPT plans revenue of 58,580 billion VND and pre-tax profit of 11,629 billion VND, an improvement of about 15% compared to 2025 results when changing the accounting method for FPT Telecom. However, this group’s growth momentum this year will slow down compared to the growth rate of the previous 5 years, about 18-20%.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, General Director of FPT, assessed that this year is a difficult time when geopolitical instability in the world occurs continuously, affecting the macro economy. Therefore, this year’s plan is still considered positive, based on the stated context.

FPT CEO shared that if the situation becomes less positive, the company will adjust its business plan to suit reality. However, this leader affirmed that the group will proactively offer solutions to adapt to market changes. “We consider facing market fluctuations as daily exercise,” Mr. Khoa said.
