A stamp for Pope Francis: tribute one year after the death of the Pontiff

The commemorative stamp dedicated to. was presented today at Palazzo Piacentini Pope Francis, one year after the passing of His Holiness.

The image of the Holy Father in St. Peter’s Square is reproduced on the stamp duty as he releases a dove, symbol of peace. “Pope Francis dedicated every day of his pontificate to the constant search for peace. On the first anniversary of his passing, the memory of the Supreme Pontiff and his commitment to the world is intertwined with the hope that glimmers of hope may be opened in the latest ongoing conflict, yet another in a series of wars that continue to tear the world apart, even at the gates of our Europe”, declared the Minister of Business and Made in Italy, Adolfo Ursowho presided over the stamp unveiling event.

The ceremony opened with a remembrance of the Spanish Vatican expert Javier Marti’nez-Brocal and continued with speeches by Flavia Scarpellini, board member of the State Printing and Mint Institute, and the head of philately events at Poste Italiane, Roberta Sarrantonio. The tribute to Pope Francis is the tenth stamp dedicated to a Pontiff.
