Dairy “Naša Zlatka” plans to make products from organic milk

The dairy “Naša Zlatka” in Kriva Reka will make products from organic milk, announced Marko Marić, the director of the Zlatibor “Eko agrar”, within which the dairy operates.

“Eko agrar” was founded in 2011 with the aim of implementing the strategic goals of the municipality of Čajetina in the field of agriculture.

“The mini dairy ‘Naša Zlatka’, founded in 2017, processes around two tons of milk per day, which it buys from small producers from remote settlements,” Marić told journalists who visited the dairy.

According to him, the dairy cooperates with about 40 households that have a maximum of eight cows. Milk is collected daily in the territory of the entire municipality of Čajetina, and every producer is obliged to have appropriate cooling devices and equipment.

The working principle is that small producers apply themselves to sell milk, and the dairy pays them 45 dinars per liter for purchase.

“The capacities of the dairy will remain at this level. We plan to have only organic products in the future. Now we have organic milk from which we do not yet make finished products, but we sell it as pasteurized, and we also offer cheese and cream,” Matić said.

He pointed out that he hopes that soon all producers will switch from conventional to organic milk production.
