The Government will also lower withholdings on corn, sunflower and sorghum starting in 2027: what will the reduction schedule be like?

One of the first confirmations from the economic team was that soybeans will have a monthly reduction of 0.25 percentage points starting in 2027, clearing up the doubt that President Milei had raised during the announcement that had made the reduction dependent on tax collection.

In this way, when the first term of the Government concludes, the rate will remain at 21%. While in 2028 the monthly reduction scheme will become 0.5 points, which would take the export duty to 15% towards the end of that year.

For corn and sorghum, meanwhile, the tax reduction will be quarterly. In the first quarter of 2027 the rates will drop from 8.5% to 8.25% and will end that year at 7.5%. Then, in 2028, the cut will be 0.5 points per quarter, so both crops would close that cycle with a load of 5.5%.

On the other hand, the sunflower will have a semiannual scheme. From the current 4.5%, it will drop to 4.25% in the first half of 2027 and then to 4% in the second half of the year. During 2028, the reduction will be 0.5 points per semester: it will go to 3.5% in the first six months and end the year at 3%.

In addition, the Government clarified that by-products, such as flour and oil, the country’s main export complexes, will also have a proportional reduction. Currently, both pay a rate of 22.5%.
